Bajó considerablemente el nivel de agua en las Cataratas del Yguazú, en la frontera entre Brasil y Argentina. El lunes 10 de abril, el volumen de agua estaba en 398 mil litros por segundo, cuando lo normal es de 1,5 millones de litros por segundo. O sea, es un cuarto del cauce normal, de acuerdo a los datos divulgados por los responsables del Parque Nacional del Yguazú, donde están las famosas caídas de agua. Esto no afecta al turismo.
Sin duda los cambios en el nivel de agua en la zona de las Tres Fronteras esta cambiando radicalmente. Hasta la semana pasada la Itaipú tenia abierta las compuertas de su vertedero para eliminar el exceso de agua en el embalse de la usina.
Ahora resulta que se registra un gran bajón en el nivel hídrico en el río Yguazú, que desemboca en el río Paraná, en la zona de Tres Fronteras.
El lunes se informó que solamente 398 mil litros de agua por segundo estaba pasando por las cataratas, cuando lo normal es de 1.500.000 litros por segundo. La diferencia es grande y fue notoria.
El octubre del año pasado la Cataratas registraron el segundo mayor volumen de agua en su historia, o por los menos de los que se tiene registrado, con 16.500.000 litros de agua por segundo. Como se puede ver la diferencia es abismal en 5 meses.
